Who is Patricio?
Patricio Villanueva is a Mexican artist currently living and working in London. His practice focuses on the language of images as a way to approach his interest in the relationship between space and the inhabitant and to explore to what extent it shapes the physical reality in which we live. The artist addresses these concepts both individually and in combination, resulting in photography and mixed media projects.
Project statement
Create a self-managed, gallery-type website to display the artist’s portfolio. The instructions were that it should be extremely minimalist and clean. A canvas to display the author’s works without visual interference of any kind.

The website was developed in WordPress, it has an intuitive content management platform, which allows the artist to update and add new pieces easily and quickly, without the need for technical knowledge.
Also, I made sure that the site was fully responsive, so that the works look impressive on any device and screen size.
With the objective of simplicity to the extreme, a website was designed together that allows works of art to take center stage. Every element of the site was precisely designed to provide a smooth and distraction-free browsing experience, ensuring that visitors can fully appreciate the artist’s creativity and talent.
Designing a very simple website seem like an unusual challenge, as we usually associate web design with flashy and creative elements. However, this seeming simplicity can present unique challenges that require a careful and strategic approach.
Also, on a simple website, every detail becomes even more crucial. The use of white spaces, fonts and colors becomes a key issue to convey the personality and purpose of the site. Each element should have a clear purpose and contribute to the user experience in a meaningful way.
With the right mix of thoughtful elements and details, we can create a digital experience that is engaging, functional, and effective, despite its apparent simplicity.
